Yes. Safeguarding your privacy is foundational to our work together. Everything you sharein our sessions remains strictly confidential. As a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling andPsychotherapy), I participate in regular clinical supervision. While I will discuss our work withmy supervisor to ensure I am supporting you effectively, your name and any identifyingdetails are always kept strictly anonymous. My supervisor is also legally and ethically boundby the same strict confidentiality rules. The only exception to confidentiality:If I believe there is an immediate, serious risk of harm to yourself or others, I may need to shareinformation with a third party. However, I would always attempt to discuss this with you firstbefore taking any action.
Yes, all qualified counsellors who are members of the BACP are ethically required tohave ongoing clinical supervision. Think of supervision as a quality control safety net. It is acollaborative process that ensures:● You receive the highest standard of safe, ethical, and effective care.● I receive objective guidance, professional support, and continuous development to bestsupport your needs.
The BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions is a comprehensive set ofethical principles, values, and good practice standards. It is designed to ensure that all BACP-registered therapists provide safe, respectful, and highly professional care to their clients. You are always welcome to read through the guidelines to understand the standards I holdmyself to. You can access and read the BACP Ethical Framework here.
Throughout my practice, I have supported young people and adults facing a diverse range of challenges. Some of the areas I frequently work with include:Anxiety, low mood, and depression.Low self-esteem and identity issues.Bereavement, grief, and loss.Relationships & Family: Difficulties with peers, relationship concerns, family changes, divorce, and parenting support.Past Experiences: Healing from abuse and exploring the impact of childhood or past experiences.Substance misuse, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.Youth & School Challenges: Bullying, academic stress, exam anxiety, and social media pressure.
Typically, individual counseling is a private space designed just for you to speak freely. However, if you need a support person, translator, or assistant with you due to a disability or medical need, I am more than happy to discuss this. Your comfort, safety, and privacy are my top priorities, and we can work together to find an arrangement that feels right for you.
